NoteHe and Mary Dunaway have not been determined to have a mother-son relationship. Flemming's placement with her is based on his location in the 1850 Census. Other candidates include either of Flemming's sisters, Martha or Sarah, or her brother and his wife, John, Jr. and Rebecca. Martha had a daughter during the same time frame that Flemming was born; Sarah may be a bit young and doesn't marry for several more years; and John, Jr. and Rebecca married during the same time frame that Flemming was born. 
He was the son of Mary Dunaway.1 
1850 CensusFlemming W. Dunaway (given age 1) was listed as a family member living with John Dunaway Senr (given age 68) on the 1850 Census. His place of birth was Virginia.1 
MarriageFlemming W. Dunaway married Eliza Ann Crews on 27 December 1873 in Virginia.
